UTERUS REMOVAL / HYSTRECTOMY SURGERY IN GURGAON
Uterus Removal
A Hysterectomy is an operation to remove a woman’s uterus. In India gynaecologist and surgeons use latest techniques like Laparoscope Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy (LAVH) for doing Hysterectomy. Laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy (LAVH) is a surgical procedure using a laparoscope to guide the removal of the uterus and/or Fallopian tubes and ovaries through the vagina (birth canal). During a hysterectomy the surgeon may remove the entire uterus or just part of it. The fallopian tubes and ovaries may also be removed. Hysterectomy can be of many types that include:
- Partial hysterectomy – only upper part of uterus removal is done
- Total Hysterectomy – Uterus removal along with cervix is done
- Radical Hysterectomy – Uterus along with cervix and ovaries are removed
Reasons For C-Sec Delivery
There are many reasons a for which a woman may need a hysterectomy. Gynaecologist may advise hysterectomy in following conditions:
- Cancer of the uterus, cervix or the ovary
- Childbirth complications, such as uncontrolled bleeding
- Long-term (chronic) pelvic pain
- Severe endometriosis that does not get better with other treatments
- Severe, long-term vaginal bleeding that is not controlled with other treatments
- Slipping of the uterus into the vagina (uterine prolapse)
- Large Fibroids, which cause heavy, painful periods
This is done using a laparoscope to guide the removal of the uterus and/or Fallopian tubes and ovaries through the vagina (birth canal). However it may be noted that not all cases are fit for a laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy. The decision of the surgeon or the gynaecologist at Kalyani Hospital, whether to go for a LAVH or abdmonial hysterectomy depends upon the reason for hysterectomy.
Best Doctors And Cost
The team of gynaecologists and surgeons with vast experience in performing gynae surgeries in Gurgaon perform the hysterectomy surgery at Kalyani Hospital. They have successfully operated several thousand of such patients. The cost of diagnosing the disease can be as low as Rs. 1200 for an ultrasound scan and can go up to Rs. 10,000 for an MRI scan and some blood investigations. The cost of treatment depends upon the type of hysterectomy performed. Generally an abdominal hysterectomy would cost lesser than a laparoscopic hysterectomy. If you are planned for hysterectomy surgery then the cost would be in the range of Rs. 60,000 – 75,000 depending upon the type and the extent of the surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is any day better than open surgery but is not possible in all the cases. Whether the surgery would be done laparoscopically or through open method willl be decided by the gynaecologist or the surgeon. The hospital stay for laparoscopic hysterectomy is 1-2 days while it would be 3-4 days for abdominal hysterectomy. For laparoscopic surgery the hospital stay would be reduced by atleast one day and the recovery would also be much faster. For women who have completed the family and are closer to menopause or past the menopause, there are no disadvantages of getting hysterectomy done. Infact the chances of getting cancer of the reproductive organs would disappear and is therefore preferred by most of the gynaecologists.
